Trading Workflows
These examples show how features can work together. Adapt them to your own process, risk tolerance and market knowledge.
Find a breakout candidate
- Run a scan for liquid names near a recent high with increased volume.
- Open the chart and check weekly or daily trend, nearby resistance and average range.
- Use VWAP, ADX, Bollinger width and relative volume as confirmation—not as automatic signals.
- Add qualified names to a Breakout watchlist.
- Create a study alert on the resistance line or a price alert at the breakout level.
Plan a swing trade
- Mark entry, invalidation and target on the chart.
- Open the Trade Planner and enter Entry, Stop, Target, capital and risk percentage.
- Check the calculated position size and risk/reward ratio.
- Create alerts for the stop and target from the planner.
- Save the chart state as a workspace if you use the same analytical template regularly.
Risk first: a plan is incomplete until you know where it is wrong and how much you are prepared to lose if that happens.
Monitor an earnings setup
- Check the earnings marker and relevant recent news.
- Decide whether event risk fits your timeframe and plan.
- Review volatility measures such as ATR, average intraday range and Bollinger width.
- Use alerts rather than watching the chart continuously.
Review after the fact
After a setup resolves, review whether the scan, thesis, entry, stop and target were coherent. This feedback loop improves the process more than adding another indicator.
