Charts & Analysis

Use gStockly to move from a ticker idea to a repeatable chart setup, an explicit risk plan, and alerts that follow the levels you care about.

Important: gStockly is an analysis tool, not investment advice. Market data can be delayed depending on the exchange and data availability.

Your first chart

1
Search for a ticker.
Use the search field at the top of the chart page and select a result.
2
Choose your working timeframe.
Daily is a useful default for swing analysis; weekly helps you see the larger trend; shorter views are useful for monitoring a setup.
3
Build the view you need.
Add indicators, draw levels, customise the header, then save the setup as a workspace if you will reuse it.

Chart controls, timeframes and views

The upper toolbar controls the chart type, timeframe, history range, scale and visual template. The drawing toolbar on the left contains cursor, line, Fibonacci, channel, annotation, ruler and shape tools.

Chart type

Switch between candlesticks, hollow candles, OHLC bars, area and line views. Use the view that makes the current decision easier to read.

Scale and grid

Use logarithmic scale when comparing moves over a large price range. Toggle the grid when it helps or distracts from your setup.

Studies

Open the Studies menu for moving averages, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, RSI, MACD, volume tools and other technical indicators.

Drawings

Drawings are tied to the current ticker and timeframe context. They can be selected, edited, moved, locked or removed.

The information displayed above the chart is personal. Open Analysis → Chart header to choose the data you want to see.

Available metrics include OHLC, volume, countervalue, intraday range, ATR, RSI, Bollinger position and width, VWAP distance, ADX, relative volume, moving-average distance and 52-week context.

Indicators and drawings

Indicators answer a question about price behaviour; drawings capture your own thesis. Combine them deliberately rather than adding everything at once.

Use caseUseful tools
Trend directionSMA/EMA, ADX, trendlines and channels
Momentum / mean reversionRSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands
Liquidity and participationVolume, volume averages, VWAP and Volume Profile
Levels and targetsHorizontal lines, Fibonacci retracements/extensions, percentage and quarter levels
Tip: right-click a saved drawing to edit properties, lock it, remove it or create an alert that remains attached to that drawing.

Save a chart workspace

A workspace is a named, reusable chart setup. It is useful when you analyse different tickers with the same process.

  1. Set the timeframe, chart type, scale, grid, visual theme, indicators and header metrics you want.
  2. Click the bookmark icon in the chart toolbar.
  3. Enter a name such as Swing, Breakout or Mean reversion, then select Save current.
  4. Load the workspace later on any ticker from the same menu.

Workspaces save chart settings and indicator configuration. Your manually drawn objects remain associated with the ticker, so a support line on one instrument is never accidentally copied to another.

Trade planner

Open the crosshair button in the left toolbar to plan a possible trade before acting on it. Enter an Entry, Stop, Target, available capital and maximum risk percentage.

The planner estimates quantity, position value, risk per share, total risk, potential reward and the risk/reward ratio. It does not place orders and it does not guarantee a fill at any price.

Use the planner for discipline: decide the maximum loss before deciding the position size. A favourable risk/reward ratio does not remove market risk.

Alerts on prices and studies

Open the bell icon for price and study alerts. Alerts can be delivered through the channels available on your account and are subject to your plan’s alert budget.

Price alert

Create an alert when price moves above, below, crosses above or crosses below a fixed level. You can choose the candle price source, cooldown, expiry, active days and an optional note.

Study alert

For a saved drawing, right-click it and choose Create study alert. gStockly opens the Study / Indicator tab and selects that exact drawing. The alert follows the drawing when you move it, which is more useful than a fixed-price alert for trendlines, channels and similar tools.

Planner shortcuts

In the Trade Planner, Alert stop and Alert target open a pre-filled price alert. Review the condition and delivery settings, then create the alert.

Insights and research panels

The Analysis menu gives access to supporting context for the current ticker:

Insights

Technical statistics and performance context calculated from loaded chart data.

Fundamentals

Financial statements, ratios and visual summaries where data is available.

Correlation

Compare the current ticker against another instrument on a normalised basis.

News, earnings and insiders

Use events and research context alongside—not instead of—your technical plan.

Bar Replay is available from the search/tools area when you want to practise reading price action without seeing future bars.

A practical workflow: start with the larger trend, mark levels, check volatility and participation, define entry/stop/target in the planner, then create alerts for the levels that would change your thesis.
